Quick take

Breakouts to new highs on heavy volume often run further than expected. Breakout Follower waits for one: when BTC rises above its highest price of the last 20 days and the last full day traded at least 1.5 times its average volume, it buys, with a USDT loan on top of your own funds. It holds while the move runs and sells everything once the price falls 8% below its recent high.

What it costs

This strategy is open on every plan - tiers set capacity, not access. Standard is free; Elite and Elite Plus raise how many assets and markets it can drive.

How it works

On a cross margin account the strategy keeps a USDT loan open and adds it to your own funds. Every round it checks each asset you picked: once the price rises above its highest price of the breakout period, 10, 20 or 55 days, while the last full day traded at least your volume multiple of its 20-day average, it buys up to the budget per asset. It does not buy once the price is more than 3% past the old high. It sells at the best bid once the price falls your trailing stop below its recent high, the highest price of the breakout period and of the last 20 hours, read from completed candles. At your margin level floor it cancels its buys and sells at the best bid.

Real talk

Many breakouts fail: the price pokes above the high and falls back, and each one costs the trailing stop plus fees, made larger by the loan. The loan stays open while the strategy runs, so interest is charged even in the weeks between breakouts. The trailing stop follows the recent high from completed candles, so a sharp drop inside a candle can sell lower than the stop suggests. Breakouts on high volume are rare, so expect long quiet stretches.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick glossary

Definitions for the trading terms used on this page.

Backtest
A simulation of how a strategy would have performed on historical price data. Past results never guarantee future returns - markets change.
Slippage
The difference between the price you expect and the price you actually get when an order fills. Worse on illiquid pairs and during fast markets.
Spread
The gap between the best buy price (bid) and the best sell price (ask). Tight spreads = liquid market, wider spreads = more cost per round trip.
Stop-loss
An automatic exit order that closes a losing position when price hits a chosen threshold. Caps how much one bad trade can hurt you.
Take-profit
An automatic exit order that closes a winning position once price reaches a chosen target. Locks in gains without relying on you to watch the chart.
Volatility
How sharply price moves. High volatility = bigger swings in both directions, which means more opportunity but also more drawdown risk.
